Studio 52 Spotlight: Salem Wolves
What Studio 52 Says: Manifesting a unique rock they call “witch punk,” Salem Wolves go all in on their namesake. The North Shore group conjured up their latest album Tooth & Nail back in May and it’s already one of our favorites of the year. The rockabilly-infused garage rock present on the record is filled with hypnotic melodies and chilling guitar tones that define their haunting sound. Judging by the name of their releases, they’re proud of their hometown and instill its formidable history into each song they write. It may not yet be autumn, but Salem Wolves unequivocally give us a chill in our bones each time we put on their music. Catch them in their natural habitat tonight (July 21) at Koto in Salem with The Rupert Selection and The Silver Mirrors. Those who aren’t a fan of the commuter rail have another chance to rock out with the Wolves on July 28, when they hit the stage with Supersuckers and The Upper Crust at ONCE Ballroom in Somerville. — Andrew Maroney, Operations Manager, Studio 52
