Thursday Kicks: Tyler, The Creator’s Converse sneakers on sale today at Bodega and Concepts

Only Tyler, the Creator would OK a Converse ad campaign slogan like “peach so nice it will make you puke.” And frankly, we’re alright with that — but don’t tell Vans.

Following the immediate success of the rapper’s collab with Converse One Star earlier this month (which sold out entirely online), Tyler and Converse are releasing four new colors of the One Star x Golf le Fleur sneakers today (August 3), both online and at more than 35 shoe stores across the country.

Bostonians can nab a pair through Tyler’s site golfwang.com and at converse.com, as well in-store at Bodega and Concepts, the only two New England locations where fans can purchase the sneakers.

“Get your lawn chairs ready or make sure you have a fast internet connection,” Tyler wrote on Instagram yesterday, announcing the onsale times of the shoes.

Custom touches to the sneakers include Tyler’s Flower Boy album cover printed on the insole of the shoe, the album cover’s bee artwork stitched on the heels, and Tyler’s sagely advice like “DON’T LET THEM KILL YOUR FLOWERS MAKE SURE YOUR GARDEN IS WATERED AND STUNT” inscribed along the midsole.

The shoes hit the online stores at 10 a.m., while Bodega opens at 11 a.m. and Concepts at 10 a.m. today. Concepts recently hosted the Kendrick Lamar pop-up shop at its Harvard Square location.

According to Converse’s website, One Star x Golf le Fleur shirts and hoodies will also be available for sale online. The shoes are available in the colors Sulphur, Airway Blue, Peach Pearl, and Fuchsia Glow, and cost $100 per pair.
