Studio 52 is a community artist space located in the heart of Allston, and is proud to support the Boston music scene and local artist community.

They say that September 1 is usually the unofficial start of the new year in Boston. Well, we’re throwing a party to celebrate.

Booking and promotions agency Lysten Boston and the historic downtown venue the Boch Center have teamed up to co-present the first-ever Tremont Takeover, and Vanyaland is honored to be on board as the official media sponsor. On Saturday, September 16 at the iconic Grand Lobby of the Wang Theatre, several of Boston’s top music supporters have come together to curate a full program of homegrown sounds that span the genre spectrum.

It’s an all-inclusive, all-ages event where each organization has selected a band or artist to perform live. The bands and artists taking part are Everything and Everyone, Dutch ReBelle, Marcela Cruz, TRIM, Oompa, GOZU, and DJ/producer Coralcola. The curators are The Record Co., Xperience Creative, Boston Hassle, Allston Pudding, Grayskull Booking, Mmmmaven, and Lysten Boston.

“As an advocate of local music, I discovered that there are many groups that are major supporters of the Boston music scene, but not many of them work together,” says Lysten founder Alyssa Spector. “There even tends to be overlap in the artists that we all book, but multi-genre and multi-organizational collaboration is rarely represented. In addition, Boston is often overlooked as having a music scene. I’m confident that the most effective way to reach our community and show our support for Boston music is to create an event that depicts what Boston music is: A diverse and all-inclusive city of immensely talented artists.”

Spector says that she has “selected the most prominent local music organizations that are in my opinion, the best at what they do, and asked them to each select a performer. The combination of this diverse lineup and the incredible lobby of the Wang Theatre, will make this event the first of its kind.”

Tremont Takeover also includes a free photo booth, by The Secret Bureau of Art & Design, as well as other free giveaways from each of the partners. The flyer below was designed by Daykamp Creative. Tickets go on sale on Friday, August 18 10 a.m., and are priced at $10 in advance and $12 at the door.

This is an all-hands-on-deck party. Preview each of the performers below.
