New Sounds: Former Patriots star Martellus Bennett teams up with Snoop Dogg

By now we all know the National Football League, like every corner of professional sports, is a business. And players on your favorite teams come and go every offseason. But mannnnnn, we wish Martellus Bennett was still a member of the New England Patriots — not just because of what the tight end brought to the field, but because of his intelligence and creativity shown off it.

The story of Bennett, who signed with Green Bay in the offseason, never ceases to inspire, and we’re certain his work with The Imagination Agency will prosper long after his playing days are over. But maybe we slept on yet another side of Bennett’s creative side, and that’s his music.

On Monday (August 21), the Packer posted his collaboration with Snoop Dogg, a chill R&B-tinged hip-hop number that again proves Bennett is a step ahead of the game.

“While in L.A. this summer I ended up at Uncle Snoop’s crib and this is what we ended up creating out of the blue,” Bennett writes on Soundcloud. “It wasn’t planned it just happened. If you ever see me out ask me about that day. It was pretty awesome. I did a song with Snoop Dogg WTH!!!!!

Maybe Chance is next.
