Studio 52 is a community artist space located in the heart of Allston, and is proud to support the Boston music scene and local artist community.

If you’re headed to Allston tonight to catch Warpaint play Brighton Music Hall, be sure to arrive early as Lady Pills were just announced as openers.

The Boston guitar-rock trio were selected by Warpaint as part of an ongoing series where the touring band has selected locals to open up their club gigs, which have filled in open dates as Warpaint continue to tour with Depeche Mode. As we reported a few weeks back, Warpaint opened up the field for submissions, and while we don’t know how many bands entered or how a decision was made, it’ll be Lady Pills rounding out tonight’s bill. Warpaint held a similar contest in Philadelphia and Albany.

Of course, we’re certainly not complaining, as Lady Pills show up frequently here on these digital pages and recently played Lollapalooza in Chicago. The Babe City Records band is a pretty great fit playing with Warpaint, and a few weeks back we hyped their new track “Old Song” (not to be confused with Warpaint’s “New Song”), which was technically an old song they released as a parting gift to former drummer Claire Duhring. Tonight, Bat House’s Bat House’s Pompy will continue to fill in behind the kit.

Listen to “Old Song” below, and roll up to BMH on the early side. Doors are at 7 p.m.
