RIP: Frank Vincent, known for iconic mobster roles in ‘Goodfellas’ and ‘Sopranos’, dead at 78

Frank Vincent, best known for his work as Billy Batts in Martin Scorsese’s Goodfellas and as Phil Leotardo on The Sopranos, died on today (September 13) while in surgery for complications from a heart attack. According to TMZ, Vincent suffered the heart attack last week, and was currently in a New Jersey hospital. He was 78.

Over several decades of work in Hollywood, Vincent had one hell of a career, in which he appeared in, amongst others, Do the Right Thing, Raging Bull, Casino, The Pope of Greenwich Village, Belly, Last Exit to Brooklyn, and many more.

Of course, he’ll mostly be known for his iconic scene with Joe Pesci in Goodfellas, where he barked out one of the most infamous lines in cinema history: “Now go home and get your fucking shinebox.”

RIP.
