Past Tense: Wild Beasts announce breakup in letter to fans

Earlier this morning, UK indie rock band Wild Beasts posted a farewell letter to fans on social media, announcing that the group has decided to break up.

Wild Beasts had been together for more than 10 years, their most recent release being the 2016 album Boy King and 2017 music video for “Alpha Female.” Earlier this month, the band performed at Festival Number 6 in Wales and Beyond The Tracks Festival in Birmingham.

“Wild Beasts are coming to an end,” the letter on Instagram reads. “Our hearts and minds have been devoted to the band since we were teenagers. We’ve created something quite of our own and built a body of work which we stand by as heartfelt and true.”

The announcement goes on to thank fans for their “love and energy” and notes that more announcements about “celebrating” with fans are forthcoming.

Check out the note, signed by all four members of the group, below.
