Cartoon Networking: Adult Swim brings unaired material to town with ‘On the Green’ tour

Normally, hardcore TV show disciples and binge-watchers have to go searching through the dark corners of the internet to find lost and unaired episodes of their favorite shows. But this week, Adult Swim brings them right to us.

Following the appearance of the Rick and Morty-themed Rickmobile merch bus in Boston, Adult Swim comes to town in a much bigger way this Friday (September 29), as the Cartoon Network subset parks in Waltham as a part of its “On the Green” tour across the United States. The Massachusetts date is the second-to-last stop in a string of East Coast pitstops, which included appearances in Atlanta, Washington, D.C., and greater Philadelphia.

The part-outdoor theater, part-festival event will run from 5:45 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Gore Place, collecting cartoon fans for trivia, games, food trucks, and most importantly, a screening of “Things You’ve Never Seen,” which Adult Swim describes as a “look at what’s on the horizon for the network with unaired [as] episodes, never before seen pilots & specials, and a load of other Williams Street favorites.”

Entry is free when you purchase a $5 concessions voucher that can be used inside the event, although guests can bring in outside food and chairs (someone tell music festivals to get with that policy). The only catch is that you have to be 18 or older to get in — it’s called Adult Swim for a reason, kiddies.
