Watch Kesha sing Tom Petty’s ‘Into the Great Wide Open’ last night in Boston

There have no doubt been countless tributes to the late Tom Petty on stages across the country this week, and last night at the House of Blues in Boston, Kesha did her part.

On the latest stop of her ongoing Rainbow tour, the singer paid tribute to Petty by covering his 1991 hit “Into the Great Wide Open.” The performance came at the start of her set’s encore.

“Not trying to be a downer but I just think this is one of the most beautiful songs ever written, and I want to pay my respects,” Kesha told the sold-out crowd. The delicate performance is led by Kesha’s emotive vocals, and you can watch fan-filmed video below. Kesha’s tour continues tonight in Maryland.
