Ghost Ramp is dancing mad in our backyard again.

A few years after signing unforgiveably-slept-on guitar-rock band Steep Leans, the label from Wavves’ Nathan Williams has added another Boston group to its roster, and this time it’s upstart metal dudes Upheaval.

The ferocious quartet are set to release debut LP Altar of Ash come January 12 via Ghost Ramp, and have prepared us for the occasion by punching us square in the tits through the record’s relentless title track. We’re not gonna sit here and look at all our Taylor Swift and Charli XCX posts and think we could even begin to describe what in the holy fuck is going on in this song, but it has already scared the cat and we’re probably sleeping with the lights on tonight.

Have you seen that video of the two Vegas hip-hop heads listening to “Holy Wars… The Punishment Due” for the first time? That’s pretty much us right now in the Vanyaland newsroom, only way less cooler.

Anyway, Altar of Ash features eight new tracks, produced and engineered by Alec Rodriguez at New Alliance Studios in Cambridge. It’ll probably fuck you up too. Face your fears and hit play on the title track below.
