New Sounds: Tennis deliver ace after ace on ‘I Miss That Feeling’

After releasing four full-length albums together and touring rather incessantly, married-couple-band Tennis have a lot of reasons to die happy — but they’re not quite through yet. The duo have announced that their new EP We Can Die Happy, the followup to this year’s Yours Conditionally LP, will drop on November 10. To ready us for the release, the duo has shared new track “I Miss That Feeling,” another notch in the couple’s retro-pop belt.

Along with the EP announcement, Tennis shared some thoughts on We Can Die Happy.

“Every album represents something foundational to our lives during the time of its creation,” the presser from the band states. “Yours Conditionally was about extricating ourselves from an industry that made us feel joyless and retrained. After a successful campaign that involved starting our own label and learning how to record on our own, We Can Die Happy finds us on the other side of that leap of faith, reveling in the sense of freedom and control we’ve found in our work.”

After hitting up Boston multiple times this year — once at The Sinclair, and again at the House of Blues — Tennis return to town early next year on January 21 to perform at Royale.
