Flirt With Death: Only Ones frontman Peter Perrett touring North America in 2018

Earlier this year Only Ones frontman Peter Perrett released his debut solo album, How The West Was Won, which arrived more than 40 years after his legendary punk and power-pop band first formed in London. The record also marks Perrett's first new music in two decades, according to Domino, and after announcing a handful of live dates in the United Kingdom to close out the year, Perrett has now revealed he will now head over across the Atlantic for a seven-date North American tour.

Perrett's tour kicks off February 28 in Toronto and wraps March 11 in San Francisco. Three dates in, he'll play Brighton Music Hall in Allston on March 3. Tickets for all shows, including the local date, go on sale Friday (October 27).

The Only Ones are perhaps best known for their 1978 power-pop classic "Another Girl, Another Planet," one of the most unfuckwithable songs ever written and a track not even Blink 182 could tarnish. On How The West Was Won, Perrett's sardonic vocal drawl and knack for melody remains intact, and while it's sadly one of the more slept-on albums of the year, maybe these stateside tour dates will shine some light on it.

Listen to a few standout tracks from the record below, and find a few minutes to revisit the forever-listenable "Another Girl, Another Planet" as well. A quick glance at a few recent Peter Perrett solo setlists suggests he's including the legendary tune in his current shows -- which alone makes that March date in Allston worth the price of admission.
