Photo Gallery: The Dresden Dolls live at The Paradise Rock Club in Boston

Editor's Note: Welcome back, Dresden Dolls, we have missed you. The dark cabaret duo of Amanda Palmer and Brian Viglione returned to Boston for three sold-out, all-ages shows at The Paradise Rock Club (November 3, 4, and 6), returning to the intimate venue where they filmed their Live: In Paradise DVD in 2005. “These shows will be an epic and heartfelt communion with our roots and our oldest and dearest fans,” Palmer said in a statement a few weeks back. “We were happy to play massive shows in 5,000-seat venues this past summer, but there’s nothing like playing to a sweaty club... Especially in these dark political times, we’re in need of some good old-fashioned political satire and fresh reasons to howl at the sky." Through the group went on hiatus a while back (Palmer going on to a wildly successful solo career and Viglione providing a beat for everyone from Nine Inch Nails to Violent Femmes), we've been treated to these reunions a bit more frequently in recent years, and this three-night stand at the 'Dise was nothing short of a celebration (any show that starts with "Girl Anachronism" is bound to exceed expectations). Kit Castagne was in the room on behalf of Vanyaland documenting Friday's show, and you can scan through his full gallery below.
