Weekenders: Watch Alex Lahey crush it on ‘Late Night With Seth Meyers’

We’re still swooning over Alex Lahey’s midweek performance Wednesday night at Great Scott, a show we told you not to skip. If you did — and you should feel real shame about that — you can catch a bit of what you missed as the brilliant singer-guitarist from Australia dropped by Late Night With Seth Meyers last night to bust out her breakout hit “Every Day’s The Weekend.” Watch it below.

“Every Day’s The Weekend,” maybe the finest indie dance party jam in a decade (wahh-ohh!), is the raucous opening cut off Lahey’s recent album I Love You Like A Brother, and it translates well here into the late-night TV circuit. Her show in Allston was the first stop of her current North American tour, and if Lahey is coming to your town over the next three weeks, we suggest you check her out. Spoiler alert: In addition to hearing several tracks off one of our absolute favorite records of 2017 (we can’t get over “I Haven’t Been Taking Care Of Myself”), you’ll also get a cover that Lahey described on stage as the Australian national anthem, a ditty made famous in the ’90s by a certain Natalie Imbruglia.

Let the weekend begin.
