Studio 52 Spotlight: Rye Pines

What Studio 52 Says: Personifying the vigor of Boston basement shows, Rye Pines keep the party going from their last album Dead Ocean with the release of their new full-length this weekend. The album, titled Roll with the Urchins, is a cacophonous medley of punk, surf-rock, and rockabilly that’s chock-full of energetic riffs and drum blasts from start to finish. Their collection of 10 reverberating tracks are already some of our favorite this new year, and the warm tone they’re glazed in has us pining for summer. Roll with the Urchins is available for streaming now with the band celebrating its release at The Farm in Allston Saturday night (January 6) with Littlefoot, Nice Guys, and Spelling. Ask someone who knows, revisit the band’s previous work below, and revel in the quintessential turf that Rye Pines flourish in. — Andrew Maroney, Studio 52 [Featured Rye Pines photo via the band’s Facebook.]
