We have a bit of a love/hate relationship with Year End roundups. While we love highlighting some of our favorite shit from the past year, there’s inevitably a killer release or two that, for whatever reason, slips by our radar. That seems to be the case with The Maxims, a Boston band that dropped their debut EP over the summer. Luckily for everyone, the band’s new video for “Endless Mind” allows us to play catch-up, and it’s a nice introduction to this trio whose names you might link back to other notable bands around town. The trippy visuals of the clip play a complementary role to the track’s manipulative rock and roll swagger; its a confident, sly stomper showing off a band years beyond their age, the type of jam that likely sounds better on cracked vinyl. Settle for the digital version via the video below, and witness it live and in the sonic flesh this Saturday (January 13) when they play Opus in Salem. Yeah, it’s gonna get weird.
