Watch out Boston Calling, this Jeopardy! contestant thinks Jack White is Eminem

When Boston Calling released its 2018 festival lineup last week, a pair of Detroit’s finest, Jack White and Eminem, shared top billing as co-headliner alongside The Killers.

Last night on the latest episode of Jeopardy!, their paths crossed once again, but in perhaps the most bizarre way possible. One of the clues towards the end of the Double Jeopardy! round was this, in a category about the origins of vinyl recording: “A recent vinyl resurgence has been aided by this musician, who built a pressing plant in his Detroit hometown.”

The clue even came with a photo of a pale, pirate-y man in a pointy goatee.

Contestant Julie chimed in with “Who is Eminem?”

She was not correct.

Contestant Rebecca followed-up in with the correct response, “Who is Jack White?”

The inclusion of the photo made the error all the more egregious, and naturally, Twitter went nuts. But those who watched the episode in real time might have noticed that Julie acted strangely after the gaffe, gesturing towards the game board, and might have actually missed the photo portion of the clue.

At least we hope that’s what happened, because only Jack White could look like this:

Anyway, White and Eminem are also co-headlining June’s Governors Ball in New York City. This spring’s Boston Calling also features Queens of the Stone Age, Paramore, Tyler, The Creator, St. Vincent, The National, and more; check out the full lineup below. Earlier this week, White released his latest single, “Connected by Love.”
