Everyone loves to talk about how rock and roll is dead and guitars are out of style and how no one likes to show their nuts in music anymore. And then The Black Angels roll around to slap us in the fuzz.
The Austin psych band reminded us how to trip in the name of rock with last year’s Death Song, and now will spend the early part of the spring cruising the eastern half of North America en route to their hometown’s Levitation Festival (April 26 to 29) and Atlanta’s Shaky Knees (May 4 to 6).
They’re calling this run “The Birds And The Bees” tour, they’re taking The Black Lips along for the ride, and along the way they roll over to Royale in Boston on April 4. Tickets for the local date go on sale Friday (January 19) at 10 a.m.
It’s a nice fit. All of it.
“Unlike a lot of things right now, touring with Black Lips just makes sense,” says Black Angels frontman Alex Maas. “It’s something that we have wanted to do for a long time.”
