What Studio 52 Says: Alt-rock quintet Valleyheart have yielded an unparalleled sound that’s constantly carrying catchy and energetic vocal melodies without forgetting to come through with beefy guitars and pounding drums, all together laying the groundwork for intense and emotional live shows. Their 2017 debut EP Nowadays is a dynamic masterpiece; with its depressingly relatable lyrics only the surface of its beauty, it’s also about as instrumentally tight as alt-rock bands come. Its quiet, collective moments bleed emotion and are eclipsed only by its loud, in your face moments that erupt with even more feels. A full length album is rumored to be in the works, and now with the recent backing of Rise Records, the evolution of this band is something we’re all anxious to see come to fruition. Come check out their last show before they head into the studio, tonight (Friday, January 26) at Allston staple Great Scott. They’re on as direct support for Boston power trio Long Time; and with Pray for Sound getting the night started, Bowery Boston delivers a banger lineup to our own back yard yet again. — Trevor McSweeney, Studio 52
