#GetOutOneYearLater: ‘Get Out’ returns to theaters on President’s Day for free

Yes, that’s right: Get Out, Jordan Peele’s hit horror film and now Best Picture nominee, is returning to select AMC theaters for one night only, February 19, and you can go see it for free without having to wait in line with other Chance the Rapper fans for tickets.

It’s in honor of the one-year anniversary of the film’s release, and it’s meant to be a thank you from Peele to fans for their support of the film.

Here’s a quote from a Universal Pictures employee that we pulled from the press release:

“When Jordan approached us about a way to thank fans one year after the release of Get Out, we thought a Presidents’ Day screening during Black History Month would be a wonderful way to commemorate the film’s impact,” said Jim Orr, President, Distribution, Universal Pictures. “The success of his stunning vision would not have been possible without the audience’s passion for both Get Out’s groundbreaking storytelling and its deft use of art as society’s mirror.”

That’s a pretty dope thing to do for the fans, guys, and it’s a great chance to watch the movie especially if you haven’t seen it yet and are wary of watching the clipped version on HBO. It’s significantly better with an audience. This offer includes several locations around New England, including the AMC Boston Common, and all you have to do is go to the theater of your choice and request a ticket on the day of the screening. This is until the theater is at capacity of course, so you’ll probably be shit out of luck at like 9 a.m., you poor bastards. Regardless, fortune favors the brave, so why not try anyways?
