Hinds want to invite you to ‘The Club’ before they play Cambridge

I Don’t Run, the forthcoming album from Madrid guitar-rock band Hinds, remains one of the more intriguing and anticipated albums of 2018. Today (March 5), we get the record’s “presentation card” in the form of “The Club,” a buzzy, lo-fi rock nugget that wouldn’t sound out of place among The Strokes’ earliest demos. And that guitar work is divine. “When we wrote ‘The Club’ and first listened to it we couldn’t believe that we hadn’t [written] it before and that we hadn’t been listening to it for years,” Hinds say in a joint statement. “A friend said that it is more Hinds than Hinds themselves, hahah. That’s why we chose putting it as the track 1 of the album. From now on it’s our presentation card.” I Don’t Run, co-produced by Hinds and Gordon Raphael (The Strokes, Regina Spektor), is out April 6 via Mom + Pop. In the coming months, Hinds have a slew of North American and European shows on the horizon, including a stop at SXSW, co-headlining dates with Albert Hammond Jr., and a May 7 appearance at The Sinclair in Cambridge. Join the club, yo. Featured Hinds image by Alberto Van Stokkum.
