Blood Beach fill us with life on debut roller ‘Your Eyes’

Last summer the Brattle rolled out its “Just When You Thought it was Safe to Go Back in the Water!” series which re-introduced us to Blood Beach, the campy 1981 horror flick rife with bloodless horror, blurry cinematography, and weird-ass monster designs. This morning, we rise to a new kind of Blood Beach, one where the horror morphs to a relaxed chill and the edges are smoothed out to blissful oblivion. This Blood Beach is a London duo, and the alt-R&B pairing of vocalist Lucy Hayes and producer Sleepy Eye offer up a sterling debut in “Your Eyes,” a mystical glide along warmer vibes and no such loss of life. In fact, it’s a sultry design that achieves quite the opposite, as life is what it’s filling us with after each consecutive spin.
