Studio 52 is a community artist space located in the heart of Allston, and is proud to support the Boston music scene and local artist community.

From the release of Torch Song to a commanding performance at the Boston Music Awards, it felt like STL GLD were everywhere throughout 2017. Today, as they release a new single and b-side that should set the tone for the months ahead, they’re still everywhere, literally: Playing The Sinclair Saturday (March 31) with Talib Kweli and The Soul Rebels brass band and DJing the venue’s Kitchen after their set; snapping press photos outside Mass Apparel on the busy Allston corner of Harvard and Cambridge streets, and teaming with Union Square Donuts in Somerville to add flavor to their new single. Not that “Donut Shop” needs any added ingredients; the punchy track, a collab with NYC trio Too Many Zooz, scratches and sways along an old-school vibe from producer The Arcitype while Moe Pope’s real-life lyricism remains as timely as ever. This May they hit the Boston Calling stage, showing their platform grows larger and louder with each release. Digest “Donut Shop” below, and wash it down with a bit of b-side “DBL MNT” for a one-two punch that can only come from the double-fist of STL GLD. Yeah they got props.
