Goldfrapp enlist Depeche Mode’s Dave Gahan for ‘Ocean’ redeux

Goldfrapp have re-recorded one of the standout tracks from last year’s Silver Eye LP, and have enlisted Depeche Mode’s Dave Gahan to push the song to even greater heights. Their audio scheme is part of Mute Records’ July 6 release of Silver Eye: Deluxe Edition, a two-disc re-issue featuring new artwork, remixes, and alternative versions of select tracks. Of the Gahan duet, Goldfrapp offer up this for the record: “Working with Dave Gahan on the new version of ‘Ocean’ has been a real honor for us as a band. We’re thrilled to finally share this collaboration with the world.” Goldfrapp are set to play a string of European summer dates in the coming weeks, including The Cure’s 40th anniversary show in London. Depeche Mode, meanwhile, are bringing their Global Spirit Tour to North America, and play Boston’s TD Garden on June 9. Featured Goldfrapp image by Alison Goldfrapp, via Mute.
