Johnny Marr says ‘Hi Hello’, announces fall North American tour

Johnny Marr has a new solo record coming out next month, and he’ll be returning to Boston later this year to show it off.

The legendary guitarist of The Smiths and master collaborator (Modest Mouse, Electronic, The Cribs) is set to drop Call The Comet come June 15, and tours it across North America this fall, landing at The Paradise Rock Club on October 21. Tickets go on sale Friday (June 1).

We’ve already heard the post-punk-flavored single “The Tracers,” and recently Marr raised the game with the more jangly and familiar “Hi Hello,” which finds the guitarist harkening back to his old band’s sound. It’s actually quite eerie. Hear it below, and check out all the live dates on Marr’s upcoming tour.
