Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper co-star in the first ‘A Star Is Born’ trailer

If anyone is poised to nab an EGOT in the next couple decades, it’s Lady Gaga, and she’s inching closer to getting the “O” with the release of the umpteenth A Star Is Born remake this fall.

In the 2018 rendition, Gaga takes over Barbara Streisand’s 1976 lead role as aspiring but bashful singer-songwriter Ally (apparently, a more modern name than “Esther,” what her character is named in the original version). While the Streisand adaptation of A Star Is Born might be the most recognizable of the bunch, the original film debuted in 1937 — and the 2018 flick marks its third remake. It’s also another large foray into acting for Gaga, who’s already nabbed a Golden Globe for her work in American Horror Story.

The film, due out in October, shared its first trailer today, juxtaposing Gaga with her hunky hirsute costar (and, in this case, director) Bradley Cooper, both belting out songs from the forthcoming soundtrack.

Hey, it’s no #LG6, but we’ll take it.

“It’s a dream come true and an honor to be a part of this incredible movie. Bradley’s ability as a director, actor and musician is astounding,” Gaga shared on Twitter today. “It’s called A Star Is Born, and I’m beyond thrilled for you to meet Jack and Ally.”

A Star Is Born hits theaters on October 5. Check out the trailer below.
