Adonis Returns: ‘Creed II’ gets a teaser poster

It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything of substance about Creed II, which has been shooting in Philadelphia over the last few months after a director swap (Sylvester Stallone, who was originally slated to helm the picture, passed on the mantle to newcomer Steven Caple Jr.), but the floodgates are finally opening up. Tuesday saw the first teaser poster for the film drop, while a full-length trailer comes out on June 20, which we’re assuming is because MGM wants to get them Jurassic World eyes when that sure-to-be monster hit devastates the multiplex.

Anyways, take a look at it:

And, to make you even more worried about whether or not this is going to be any good, here’s a Twitter user @seekandspeak with the deep-dive on this poster’s origins:

Here’s a synopsis:

Life has become a balancing act for Adonis Creed. Between personal obligations and training for his next big fight, he is up against the challenge of his life. Facing an opponent with ties to his family’s past only intensifies his impending battle in the ring. Rocky Balboa is there by his side through it all and, together, Rocky and Adonis will confront their shared legacy, question what’s worth fighting for, and discover that nothing’s more important than family. Creed II is about going back to basics to rediscover what made you a champion in the first place, and remembering that, no matter where you go, you can’t escape your history.

Creed II hits theaters on November 21.
