‘Creed II’ Trailer: Drago’s kid is out for blood

We showed you the dope poster yesterday, now prepare yourself for the full shotgun blast to the face that is the first trailer for Creed II.

Even with the occasional worry about how this will ultimately turn out (that Drago reveal is a bit… odd), we still can’t contain our excitement any longer, folks. It’s been far too long since we’ve seen these characters. We are so pumped! So pumped, in fact, that we forgot you haven’t watched the trailer yet.

Let’s rectify that mistake:

We’re somewhat sad that we’re not going to see the arc that former director Ryan Coogler and company had in store for Adonis Creed and Rocky Balboa (Remember when Andre Ward showed up as a potential antagonist for future films? Pepperidge Farm remembers), but this is, we guess, what Sly Stallone really wanted to do. And we’re kind of okay with that, honestly! Anyways, we’d follow Michael B. Jordan and Tessa Thompson to the ends of the Earth, and we’re just so excited to see these characters again so soon.

Here’s a synopsis:

Life has become a balancing act for Adonis Creed. Between personal obligations and training for his next big fight, he is up against the challenge of his life. Facing an opponent with ties to his family’s past only intensifies his impending battle in the ring. Rocky Balboa is there by his side through it all and, together, Rocky and Adonis will confront their shared legacy, question what’s worth fighting for, and discover that nothing’s more important than family. Creed II is about going back to basics to rediscover what made you a champion in the first place, and remembering that, no matter where you go, you can’t escape your history.

Creed II hits theaters on November 21.
