Music publications toss around the term “match made in heaven” all the time, but it’s not often that one of the musicians in question is reppin’ Boston. Born Claire Cottrill, Carlisle’s own Clairo has tapped British producer SG Lewis for her new groove-laden electro-pop track “Better.” The tune comes as a quick followup to the singer’s EP diary 001, an equally dreamy collection that debuted in May. “Sam is one of the most talented producers I know,” Clairo says of her collaboration with SG Lewis. “We met the same day that we made this song, and just clicked instantly. ‘Better’ is one of the first real steps I’ve made into pop music and this collab feels like a match made in heaven!” Slip into the sweetness below and prep for Clairo’s very sold out July 20 homecoming gig at The Sinclair in Cambridge.
