Shit News: Diarrhea Planet announce breakup and final shows

When we spoke to Diarrhea Planet back in 2016, the Nashville group had just released their album Turn To Gold and were basking in the (somewhat intensive) glow of their rigorous touring and festival cycle. Two years later, the half-garage, half-punk band has announced their finals shows together, both of which will take place in their Tennessee hometown this fall.

Diarrhea Planet shared their farewell announcement today (July 23) on social media, including the details for their last two live gigs: September 7 and 8 at Exit/In in Nashville.

The group, formed in 2009, most recently hit up Boston the past April while opening for The Darkness at Royale.

“Greetings y’all, it is with a heavy heart we announce our final shows,” Diarrhea Planet posted to Facebook. “We’ve had an incredible run largely thanks to all of you incredible people, but we’ve decided to bring it to a close. It has truly been amazing to share our music with y’all onstage and off. So we’re celebrating with two shows in our hometown at Exit/In. Dates are 9/7 and 9/8 and we would love to see everybody there. On Sale: 7/27 at www.exitin.com !”
