Miles Kane gets his ass kicked by Finn Bálor in ‘Cry On My Guitar’ video

Earlier today we got all worked up over Alex Turner shaving his head on the eve of Arctic Monkeys’ North American tour.

Now, Turner’s Last Shadow Puppets collaborator Miles Kane is also turning to shock tactics — like getting his ass kicked by WWE wrestler Finn Bálor. We want to say no hair was harmed in the making of the video, but we’d probably be mistaken.

“I loved every minute making this video… I felt like I was in a Bond movie,” says Kane about the one-sided combat clip. Director Brook Linder gets more direct: “The very moment I met Miles Kane I wanted to see him thrown through a wall. We wanted to have a crack at a Bond film — no easy task. I knew he could do it. Finn’s talent and skill set the bar extremely high, and Miles was up for the challenge. There’s something really honest and almost vulnerable about Miles. You can hear it on the album and you can feel it being around him — there’s a real intensity to his natural state. Just flip on the camera and it’s right there.”

It’s also evident on the track, a buzzy guitar-rock tune co-written by Jamie T that has a proper debt to T. Rex and ’70s glam titans. “Cry On My Guitar” is the latest off Kane’s upcoming solo album, Coup De Grace, out August 10 on Virgin EMI, and we’re literally counting down the days.
