Sylvan Esso and Local Natives live at The Blue Hills Bank Pavilion

Editor’s Note: There are a lot of reasons to be miserable about life in 2018, but the live music calendar is simply just not one of them. Case in point: We get to spend a Saturday night in the summer down by the water watching bands like Sylvan Esso and Local Natives play outdoors under a big-ass amphitheater tent. That was the scene this past weekend (July 28) as the North Carolina electronic-pop duo and Los Angeles indie band, respectively, held court at The Blue Hills Bank Pavilion. Pure hustler Yazi Ferrufino was under the tent — as well as up front, side stage, and even backstage snapping some portraits — on behalf of Vanyaland to document the visuals that accompanied the sounds, and you can flip through his full gallery below. Oh, that rumor about Sylvan Esso’s Amelia Meath wearing see-through pants? That happened, too.
