Interpol continue their calculated comeback with ‘Number 10’

One of the more pleasant surprises of 2018 has been the return of Interpol. The New York City band had a few years of relative quiet after the 2014 release of El Pintor, but stormed back in June with the release of post-punk rager “The Rover.” That track set the tone nicely for Interpol’s forthcoming sixth studio LP Marauder, out August 24 via Matador, and now this new joint called “Number 10” further enhances our expectations. Word is the song takes its title from being the 10th song on Marauder, and it once again finds the band sounding rather refreshed and reenergized. Interpol will spend the fall on a headlining North American tour, and that run comes to Boston’s Orpheum Theatre on September 11. Featured image by Jamie-James Medina.
