Aphex Twin strike a strobe with ‘T69 Collapse’ and EP announcement

It’s a lazy summer Tuesday in the cultural wasteland we call August, so naturally here comes Aphex Twin to shake up the day. The intense “T69 Collapse” is the lead track off Aphex’s forthcoming EP, Collapse, and that hits September 14 via Warp. The track’s intensity is only matched by its Weirdcore-created visual, which reportedly failed the Harding test, a mandatory protective measure to shield television viewers with epilepsy, making it ineligible to premiere last night on Adult Swim. In the YouTube clip below, which we recommend viewing on full screens, the video comes with this message: WARNING: CONTAINS STROBING. Collapse, the British producer’s first release since 2016 EP Cheetah, will be released in the following forms: CD, cassette, vinyl, and a limited LP wrapped in a “Procédé Heliophore silver foil sleeve.” Photo via Warp Records.
