The Breeders get their puppet on, announce North American tour

The indie rock machine known as The Breeders have announced a fall North American tour in contined support of March’s All Nerve LP. And to celebrate, the band has unveiled a “homemade video” for the album’s “Nervous Mary.”

“In the middle of a busy street in Nijmegen, The Netherlands, The Breeders took a brief break from touring to shoot a homemade video for ‘Nervous Mary’,” reads the video description. “Puppet versions of Kim and Kelley Deal — dressed in custom-knitted outfits made by Finnish fan and professional puppet-maker Milla Risku — go wild performing the song as their real-life counterparts sing live vocals off camera.”

We could get used to these puppets.

As far as their tour goes, The Breeders just hit the House of Blues in May — peep Scott Murry’s full photo recap for Vanyaland — so this time around the Deals and Co. run just north and south of Boston: October 25 at Portland’s State Theatre, and then October 27 at The Strand in Providence. Full dates after the puppet jump.
