‘Slice’ Trailer: Chance the Rapper faces a literally hellish pizza place

Slice

Uber distributor/producer A24 has been teasing Austin Vesely’s horror-comedy Slice all summer long with a series of very funny posters that were heavy on blood and light on context. This all came to an end on Tuesday, when the company dropped a brief trailer for the film (and we mean brief — don’t blink or you could miss something!), which stars Chance the Rapper and Deadpool 2’s Zazie Beetz. So, all things considered, we’re pretty stoked for this little movie, which should make really interesting viewing when coupled with the right kind of pizza and your preferred relaxation agent.

Here’s the trailer. Werewolves and zombies and dead pizza delivery guys, oh my:

So, yeah, this movie basically stars every single person the Internet likes. You’ve got your Joe Keery (Steve from Stranger Things), Paul Scheer, Chris Parnell (the dude who voices Jerry on Rick and Morty and that little box on those insurance ads), Y’Lan Noel (from The First Purge and Insecure), Beetz and Chance. Now that we think about it, you could beatbox using those last three words. Anyways, this looks like a lot of fun, and we’re pretty sure we’ve been to that pizza place before. Like, seriously.

Here’s a synopsis from A24:

“In a spooky small town, when a slew of pizza delivery boys are slain on the job, two daring survivors (‘Atlanta’s’ Zazie Beetz and Chance the Rapper in a wild film debut) set out to catch the culprits behind the cryptic crime spree. ‘Slice’ is director Austin Vesely’s first feature film after helming music videos for Chance’s ‘Sunday Candy’ and ‘Angels.'”

Slice currently doesn’t have a release date (it literally says TBA 2018 on its distributor’s website), but we’re expecting it to hit sometime around Halloween — that’s just how these things go. Either way, this looks like it’ll go great with some garlic sauce whenever it actually drops.
