Lyrics to ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ hiding in plain sight on epic Twitter account

It started with a question — actually, it ended with a question.

“IS IT JUST ME, OR DID I JUST PULL OFF THE GREATEST TWITTER SCHEME OF ALL TIME?????”

That was asked yesterday (August 23) by Hadie Mart, forever known from here on out in internet lure as @CostcoRiceBag, who spent the past few months tweeting out random thoughts, polls, observations, and the usual shit that fills everyone’s Twitter. Turns out, though, none of it was random, as yesterday the jig was up, and so was the song.

Mart, you see, was playing a game all along, and yesterday’s query wrapped up one epic effort in which all the lyrics to Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” were now spelled out in the first word of each tweet.

The game started on May 7, when Mart tweeted “Blows my mind that school used to go into JUNE and somehow I tolorated it.” That began the process of citing all of “Bohemian Rhapsody’s” lyrics in reverse, beginning with “Anyway the wind blows,” so we can all read through the lyrics nearly four months later. That’s dedication over more than 350 tweets.

And in case you were wondering, Mart nailed “BISMILLAH” on June 17.

Bravo.

Just… bravo.

Enjoy perhaps the greatest use of Twitter in the history of mankind. Or at least since Dear David kept us up all night a few months ago.

Hadie Mart, legend.
