Isak Danielson knows he’s here first, last, and ‘Always’

A few weeks back we spotlighted a handful of young female singer/producers making names for themselves. Today we shine a gloss on a boy making waves in his native Sweden and beyond in Isak Danielson, a freshly-turned 20-year-old with a voice that suggests he’s musically wise beyond his years. Danielson’s new track is called “Always”, heard below, and while he gets vocal comparisons to the likes of Anohni and Hozier, we’re catching some Morten Harket vibes as well. Danielson says this emotive new pop-rock track is about a love unconnected. “This song is the most happy I’ve ever been in my music,” Danielson says. “It’s about a beautiful girl who got my attention but didn’t give me any back… Will we be #always?” One of Danielson’s recent singles was just featured in an episode of Marvel’s Cloak And Dagger last month, so we’re excited to hear what types of scenes “Always” might soundtrack. In the meantime, get lost in its blissful majesty below, and sit tight for Danielson’s debut album, set for October 19 release.
