‘Halloween’ Trailer 2: Michael Myers is on the loose

Halloween

It’s been a bit since we’ve seen any new footage from David Gordon Green’s Halloween sequel, but Universal and Blumhouse have decided to reward you for making it to Wednesday without murdering any of your co-workers.

So, they dropped a big ol’ trailer that’s jam-packed full of new footage to delight your eyes and to help you welcome in the fall season despite the heat wave that’s still making the East Coast an insufferable hell-hole. So you should try your best to suck down that pumpkin-spice latte and eat that apple cider doughnut before you watch this, because you might choke, and we wouldn’t want that, now would we?

Peep it:

We’re really excited that Gordon Green and his cohorts seem to be following Carpenter’s style a little closer than some of the other filmmakers who’ve worked as guns-for-hire on this franchise (we still love you, Rob Zombie). Those first two shots look exactly what we imagine J.C. himself would have done given the opportunity to make a sequel to the film today, and that’s a pretty high compliment. Otherwise, we’re just kind of excited to see how committed Laurie is to stopping Michael, since this basically looks like a one-man siege film. We can’t wait!

Here’s a synopsis:

“Jamie Lee Curtis returns to her iconic role as Laurie Strode, who comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago.”

Halloween will have its world premiere at TIFF this year, and we’ll definitely have a review for it from Toronto soon after it screens this weekend. If you’re local to Massachusetts, it’ll also be showing as the opening night film at this year’s Salem Horror Fest on October 4. Otherwise, Halloween will hit theaters everywhere on October 19.
