Listen to the Neon Gold Records 10th anniversary comp (because it rules)

Neon Gold Records burst onto the scene back in September 2008 with the 7-inch release of Passion Pit’s debut single “Sleepyhead”, and the New York City label founded by Derek Davies and MS MR’s Lizzy Plapinger hasn’t missed a beat since.

Tomorrow they throw down a 10th Anniversary show at the Knockdown Center in NYC, featuring The Knocks, Marina & The Diamonds, BROODS, and more, but there are treats for those who aren’t in the area — a new anni compilation titled NGX: Ten Years of Neon Gold, and as expected, the 12-track playlist is a certified alt-pop banger.

NGX is a mix of “rarities, exclusives and covers” from Neon Gold’s impressive lineage of artists, anchored by a new collaboration between Tove Lo and Phoebe Ryan titled “Heart Attack.” The comp also features a fresh Clock Opera remix of Marina and the Diamonds’ “I Am Not A Robot,” Young & Sick covering “Sleepyhead,” and tracks from Ryn Weaver, Your Smith, and more.

“One of the best things about reaching a milestone like this is taking the opportunity to look back and celebrate all the incredible artists we’ve been fortunate enough to work with over the years,” says Davies. “And we had a lot of fun putting together the NGX compilation, which will feature a number of rare and exclusive tracks from some of our biggest acts, as well as a number of our newer artists covering some of our flagship earlier releases.”
