Micky James makes a fancy glam racket on a pair of new tunes

We don’t really sit here lamenting the death of rock and roll or anything silly like that, but we do miss a certain sound that used to permeate our favorite music towards the end of the last century. New Yorker Micky James wants to reconnect to that sound as well, and today (October 5) has released a pair of glam-shakin’ pop jams that recall a ’70s-kissed romp around the eternal ghosts of Bowie and T. Rex. We’re absolutely here for it. The tunes are called “Tie Me Up” and “New Heart” and you can set your Friday aflame in glitter with the duo below. “I wanted to take pieces of nostalgia and give it a contemporary twist,” James says. The dude will be part of the SiriusXM Alt Nation’s Advanced Placement tour with The Regrettes and Welles, and that lands our way December 4 at Sonia in Cambridge. We’ll be there early to see what the fuss is all about. Featured image via Facebook.
