The Wombats and Barns Courtney at The House of Blues

Editor’s Note: The Red Sox have a lot of hits. But so do The Wombats. As the Boston base ball team was serving it raw to the Los Angeles Dodgers across Lansdowne Street at Fenway Park for Game 2 of the World Series last night (October 24), the enduring British indie band was dishing out their own string of bops at The House of Blues. The Wombats are one of those sneaky bands who have been issuing indie guitar-rock bangers for the past decade-plus, the type of band you go see live and realize you know pretty much every song by heart. They rolled into Boston on the strength of another ace new album, this year’s Beautiful People Will Ruin Your Life, and yeah, that album title is directed at you. Vanyaland’s John Hutchings was in the house to capture visuals of it all, including a new snaps of opener extraordinaire Barns Courtney, and you can scan through his full gallery below.
