‘Missing Link’ Trailer: Hugh Jackman finds Bigfoot

Missing Link

It’s been a bit since we’ve heard from Laika about their new stop-motion animation project, Missing Link, the comedy adventure led by the likes of Hugh Jackman and Zach Galifianakis, which underwent radio silence following its debut at Comic-Con this past summer. Well, that’s come to an end, as the studio dropped a pretty lengthy trailer for the film on Thursday (gotta get in front of that new Grinch movie, right?), which gives a pretty good idea of what the final film will look like. It’s charming as hell, though it might disappoint those looking for something closer to Coraline or Kubo and the Two Strings, but hey, at least they’re trying something new and fun. Come for the cuddly Bigfoot, stay for the brief clip of Hugh Jackman’s character riding the Loch Ness Monster.

Take a look:

Here’s a synopsis:

“This April, meet Mr. Link: 8 feet tall, 630 lbs, and covered in fur, but don’t let his appearance fool you… he is funny, sweet, and adorably literal, making him the world’s most lovable legend at the heart of ‘Missing Link’, the globe-trotting family adventure from LAIKA. Tired of living a solitary life in the Pacific Northwest, Mr. Link recruits fearless explorer Sir Lionel Frost to guide him on a journey to find his long-lost relatives in the fabled valley of Shangri-La. Along with adventurer Adelina Fortnight, our fearless trio of explorers encounter more than their fair share of peril as they travel to the far reaches of the world to help their new friend. Through it all, the three learn that sometimes you can find a family in the places you least expect.”

Missing Link arrives in theaters on April 12. At least you won’t have to wander around in the woods looking for this one — Lyme disease is no joke!
