SUMif takes us into her alt-pop dreamland on the pulsating ‘Undone’

Dreams seem to be a common theme for dope new music today. Earlier we hyped Nicole Atkins’ cover of a Guns N’ Roses classic, which she said was inspired by a dream she had while visiting Vermont. Now, San Francisco alt-pop upstart SUMif glows out our mental dance floor with a fresh new cut called “Undone”, a stimulating breeze-by that first took shape via slumber. “I found myself in a momentary dream, one of those pinch-me-dreams that felt all too good to last — in those fleeting moments I tried desperately to hold on, all while knowing that nothing gold can stay,” SUMif writes. “These are the thoughts that raced through my mind, all the words I couldn’t say.” We caught SUMif’s debut EP Pretty Cage earlier this year, but it appears she’ll have plenty to say as we doze off into 2019 and beyond.
